BANGALORE: Venkat Group of Institutions, Rajajinagar, organised Prathiba Puraskara to felicitate toppers and meritorious students who excelled in the Class X and XII board examinations held recently. It was emotional and joyous moment for students as they stepped on the stage to receive the Venkatamma Prathiba Puraskara from former Additional Chief Secretary Chiranjeevi Singh. The function was given a touch of festivity with the faculty members rendering a song and the students performing a classical dance. Life skills and counselling programmes were inaugurated at Auden School, Banashankari recently. The guest lecturers from International Academy Creative Teaching (IACT) spoke to the students about the importance of developing life skills. The running theme of the lectures was: “A cup of energy drink energises our tired body, likewise life skills distresses our stressed out mind.” Shylaja Shastry of IACT explained about the counselling classes and said that “learning through fun” would be the focus. Members of the student council of Delhi Public School (North) took charge from their predecessors at the investiture held on the school premises recently. For the first time, posts of responsibilities were given to the junior school student body. The students were selected on the basis of their academic performance, interviews and electoral speeches. Principal Sneh Preet Sial said that care had been taken to select the student body and utmost fair play and transparency has been observed on the election of the candidates.
