PM to discuss farm plan during visit

HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his visit to the City on July 31 will discuss State-specific strategy for additional Central assistance to increase agricultural growth from 2.46 to four per cent (the national average is 1.78 per cent).

Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy reviewed the agriculture strategy and wanted additional Central assistance for specific programmes, like modernisation under Accelerated Irrigation and Benefit Programme He agreed for Rs.62-crore loan to clear dues by sugarcane factories.
