Veteran journalists honoured

Chennai: Several veteran writer-journalists who worked in the Tamil journal, Janasakthi, were honoured at a function at the headquarters of the Communist Party of India in the city on Wednesday.

Mayandi Bharathi, D. Jayakanthan, A.M.Gopu, "Mazzini," Solai and V. Radhakrishnan were among them.

R. Nallakannu, former State secretary of the CPI, recalled their contribution to the journal. D. Pandian, the party’s present secretary, said the party would organise soon a discussion between the veteran journalists and younger members of the organisation to record the history of the party and the journal.
