MuggleNet has posted an online poll — How long will it take you to finish Book 7? This unofficial Harry Potter fan site has given options for Potter manias: I have got the whole night reserved; I will preferably finish it on the 21st; or a few days and a week, at least.

As the deadline for the release of final edition of the J.K .Rowling’s fantasy series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, draws to a close, Muggles (non- magical mortals) in the city are excited about the climax.

The seventh edition will clear some confusion and join the loose ends built up through the series. The book may cover the pairing of some of the teenage wizards of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The penultimate book, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, saw the pairing of Harry and Ginny-Weasley and Ron and Hermione.

“The new book will be definitely be the big fight between the Voldemort and Harry. And we will be able to know who RAB is,” said Krishna Priya, fifth- semester B.Tech. (information technology) student at the A.W.H. Engineering College, Kozhikode.

“Rowling has declared that at least two persons are going to die in the book. Voldemort is sure to die.

Maybe, Dumbledore will come back to life,” said V.J. Vibha, residing at Jaffer Khan Colony.

Most ardent readers of Harry Potter have also seen the cinematic adaptation of the fifth book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, now running in theatres across the States.

“But I loved the fourth book, Goblet of Fire. It had no dull pages,” Vibha says.M. Sidharthan of D.C. Books has placed an order for 1,000 copies.“It is almost a rise of 50 per cent than that of the previous edition ,” he said.

Many have come with offers in connection with the release. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is priced Rs. 975 in India.

“I have orders for 750 copies on the first day. Maybe, I will be selling another 1,000 copies within two weeks,” said N.E. Manohar of T.B.S. Publishers and Distributors in Kozhikode.

“This time the response is tremendous. A few orders have come from the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode,” said Mr. Manohar, who plans to open the book store at 5 a.m. on Saturday.

The anticipated seventh book will witness Harry facing Voldemort in a final encounter. He will have to find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes of Voldemort to get him killed. In Half Blood Prince, Voldemort had split his soul into s even parts.

As the clock strikes 12, Ms. Rowling will be reading out from the book at the Natural History Museum in London. Last time (July 16, 2005), she chose the Edinburgh Castle in Scotland.
