KOZHIKODE: The Malabar Group of Companies, a gold business major in South India, will open its wholesale division of jewellery collections and sourcing centre of international collection at Gold Suk in Dubai this month. The enterprise has plans to open showrooms at a number of major centres in the State, country and abroad. The business major has already opened a diamond company in Bangalore, a release said here on Monday. The second showroom would be opened in Jayanagar, Bangalore and another at Kodungalur in August. This was besides the gold showrooms being set up at Kanhagad, Mysore and Thodupuzha in September. A design and interiors furniture showroom in Koratty, and an exclusive showroom of watches in Kozhikode, are also in the offing. The company has chalked out a whole lot of expansion initiatives in 2008, including business diversification proposals such as shopping malls and jewellery showrooms to be opened in Kerala, and outside the State. The Malabar Group of Companies in association with the Malabar Chamber of Commerce will institute an award for Excellence in Business to be presented to heads of companies showcasing good performance coupled with honesty, sincerity and transparency.
