Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court on Thursday fixed July 25 as the next date of hearing on a writ petition filed against alleged move to demolish B R Ambedkar Sports Complex here and provided time to the State Government to file detailed compliance report on its earlier order to maintain status quo there. Justice Pradeep Kant and Justic D P Singh of Lucknow Bench passed the order on a writ petition filed by one Om Prakash Yadav, a corporator and others against the alleged move of the State Government to demolish the sports complex. At the time of hearing, a counter affidavit was filed on behalf of the State Government through Additional Advocate General J N Mathur saying therein that the earlier order for maintaining the status quo ante at the complex was being complied with. Mr. Mathur also assured that the status quo order must be complied and will be complied. Contrary to it, on behalf of the petitioner, senior advocate Prashant Chandra alleged that the State Government was not complying the earlier interim order of the court and facilities for playing games have not been restored. He also filed some photograph of the complex in question showing that after passing the interim order by the court, the goods were transported on trucks and some obstructions were also created to stop the sporting activities inside the complex.- PTI
