Ramjas student rusticated for ragging
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Determined to curb the menace of ragging, Delhi University’s Ramjas College on Thursday rusticated a second-year student for a month for being involved in ragging.
Manoj Kumar Gautam has been rusticated and his entry to the college has been banned till August 17, announced college Principal Rajender Prasad. Six students had been suspended on Wednesday after they were caught by the anti-ragging squad of the college and were asked to get their parents to the college on Thursday.
“Only Manoj got his father to the college today. He confessed to being involved in a form of ragging, so he was rusticated. The suspension of others will continue till the time they bring their parents to the college. They wanted some time and they have been given 12 days,” said Dr. Prasad.
Meanwhile, Hindu College has also banned the entry of a former student who was involved in ragging.
