Officials challenge Lokayukta action

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday adjourned further hearing on petitions by several State Government officials challenging the action of the Lokayukta in lodging cases against them under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The Lokayukta had registered cases against KAS officer C. Somashekar, Deputy Conservator of Forests Shantappa, senior police officer Kempaiah and others for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

Justice Ajit Gunjal adjourned further hearing on these petitions. — Staff Reporter
