Anganwadi workers stage protest

KOLAR: Anganwadi workers and helpers, led by the CITU-affiliated All-India Anganwadi Workers’ Association, laid siege to the zilla panchayat office here on Thursday demanding, among other things, an increase in honorarium. They also urged the Union Government to place before Parliament the report of a committee that looked at strengthening the Integrated Child Development Scheme. The agitation would be intensified if the Government did not respond positively, the protesters warned. — Staff Correspondent
