89 MLAs, 2 MPs vote in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: All the 89 MLAs of Chhattisgarh Assembly and two Members of Parliament from the State on Thursday cast their votes in the President election.

“All the 89 MLAs of the State and Lok Sabha MP Ajit Jogi of the Congress and Rajya Sabha member Dillip Singh Judeo of the BJP also cast their votes in the Assembly premises,” Returning Officer Devendra Verma told reporters here.

In the 90-member House, the Marwahi seat is laying vacant, while rest of the legislators exercised their franchise.

Chandigarh: Tourism Minister Ambika Soni and 116 legislators in the 117-member Punjab Assembly cast their vote in the presidential poll. Barring Joginderpal Jain, all 43 Congress MLAs, 49 legislators of ruling Shiromani Akali Dal and 19 of its ally BJP and five independents cast their votes, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tikshan Sud said here.
