Sharp rise in Ranbaxy’s second quarter net

NEW DELHI: Ranbaxy Laboratories reported a 118 per cent jump in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2007, at Rs. 266.20 crore against Rs. 122.11 crore in the year-ago period. Consolidated net sales grew 12 per cent to Rs. 1,623.80 crore as compared to Rs. 1,149.80 crore. “The sales figures exclude gains or losses on foreign exchange transaction,” a Ranbaxy official told reporters here.
