The Indian Davis Cupper will meet Dopminik Meffert of Germany in the pre-quarterfinals.

Navdeep retires midway

Meanwhile, in the $15,000 ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament at Gandia, Spain, Navdeep Singh retired in the second round while trailing 1-6, 0-3 against the fourth-seeded Pedro Clar-Rossello of Spain.

Indian challenge ends

In the $10,000 ITF women’s circuit tournament at Khonkan, Thailand, the Indian challenge came to an end as Ankita Bhambri and Rushmi Chakravarthi lost 2-6, 1-6 to Sun-Jung Kim and Cho-Won Lee of Korea in the doubles semifinals.
