Bangalore: It was a perfect setting for Lio Chao to display his skills with the yo-yo this weekend, at the children’s play area at Lifestyle Mall became his stage, with a captive audience of children eagerly waiting to be entertained. He started practicing when he was 15 years old, and now he wows audiences with tricks such as “walk the dog” where he masterfully gets the yo-yo to obey, while he rolls it out horizontally and brings it back. Then there is “rock the baby”, where he twists the thread between his fingers, converting the yo-yo into a gently swinging cradle. Thirty such tricks were performed in 30 minutes., each given names like UFO, Eiffel Tower and Home Run that perfectly described the yo-yo act. Mr. Chao will now head to Hyderabad as part of a travelling “yo-yo masters roadshow”. organised by Cartoon Network Enterprise (CNE). for champions between 20-26 years. CNE is promoting its “POGO Blazing YO-YO,” a new toy which has already sold 1,00,000 units.
