All-women ensemble

Bangalore: An all-women instrumental ensemble will treat Carnatic music enthusiasts to a performance here on Saturday at Yeshwanthpur Ayyappan Temple.

The event is being presented by Stree Taal Tarang Troupe, led by ghatam Vidushi Sukanya Ramgopal.

The other artistes of the troupe are Yoga Vandana (on the konakkol), Jyothsna Manjunath (violin), Ranjani Venkatesh (mrudangam) and Bhagyalakshmi M. Krishna (morching). Yeshwanthpur-based Sri Venkatappa Sangeetha Vidyalaya is the organiser of the programme.

The music school will felicitate Vidhushi Sukanya Ramgopal on the occasion. The event will take place at the Ayyappan Temple on M.S.R. (HMT) Main Road, at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The music school has also organised a Sri Purandara Pancharathna and Thyagaraja Pancharathna on Sunday at noon. The school’s principal, B.S. Subhadramma, has composed the music for the Purundara Pancharathna kritis.
