Air cargo complex inaugurated

The Airport Authority of India, Regional Executive Director, K. Ramalingam, commissioned a new domestic air cargo complex at the Madurai Airport on Tuesday.

The 3,100-square feet complex has a separate scanning facility along with a weighing machine.

Booking of cargo for all airlines can be done at the new facility. It can handle cargo up to 10,000 tonnes a day and will be of help to the business community in the southern districts. Till now air cargo facilities were available only in Tiruchi and Coimbatore airports.
