Textbooks supplied, says Education Minister

HYDERABAD: Even as complaints poured in against shortage of textbooks at primary level, School Education Minister C. Damodar Rajanarsimha has claimed that “textbook supplies have been made to all schools”.

When the issue of shortage figured in the Assembly on Thursday, the Minister said the supply of textbooks was delayed by 20 days this year.

This was due to the fact that the printing orders were placed with the contractors through national tenders for the first time, doing away with the “nomination system” continued for the past 15 years.
