264 engineering seats vacant

CHENNAI: A total of 264 seats, including 55 in the seats earmarked for the open competition and 99 reserved for the Scheduled Castes in the vocational stream, remained vacant in the self-financing engineering colleges in the State as on Thursday at 8.30 p.m.

The vacancy position in the engineering admissions under the stream was indicated by Anna University through a release.

There were 44 seats reserved for the Backward Classes, 60 seats earmarked for the Most Backward Classes and six seats allocated for the Scheduled Tribes also remained vacant in the self-financing colleges, it said.

No seat was vacant in the Government and Government-aided colleges in the vocational stream, the release added.
