“No plan to shift courts”

CHENNAI: The Registrar (Administration) of the Madras High Court on Thursday made it clear that there was no proposal to shift the Metropolitan Magistrate Courts (MMCs) at George Town and Saidapet to the proposed integrated court complex at Egmore.

“The Committee’s proposal to the Government is only with a view to get more number of courts at Egmore to accommodate some of the fast track magistrate courts” and there was no move to shift the MMCs, he said in a release.
