Suspension of officials demanded

Staff Reporter

SANGAREDDY: The all-party Joint Action Committee organized a rasta roko for over an hour on National Highway 9 on Friday near Kandi demanding suspension of revenue officials who helped in registering the lands of Dharmasagar.

Leaders from Telugu Desam, Telangana Rastra Samithi, CPI (M) and Bharatiya Janata Party along with farmers from Dharmasagar led by Beeraiah Yadav, the TRS district secretary, obstructed the traffic and raised slogans against the district administration.

The farmers demanded that the patta land registered in the names of others should be returned to the original owners. The rasta roko caused severe traffic jam on the Highway.

The agitating farmers relented only with the intervention of circle inspector of law and order and traffic. Party state president Bandaru Dattareya would be visiting Dharmsagar.
