Naxals free abducted engineers in Maharashtra

Nagpur: Two engineers of a metal company, abducted by naxalites from the Surjagarh Hills in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, were released on Friday.

S.K. Sharma and N.V. Rughshe, employed with Llyods Metals, were freed by unharmed, Additional DGP (Anti-Naxalite Operation) Pankaj Gupta said over telephone from Gadchiroli, where he was camping after the kidnapping on Thursday. The two were conducting a survey when they were abducted by the naxals, who are opposing construction activities in the mineral-rich Surjagarh area. — PTI
