Rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Telangana, north interior Karnataka.

The following stations recorded very heavy-to-heavy rainfall in cm:-

Agathi Airport 14, Polur (Tiruvannamalai dt) and Aminidivi 10 each, Venkatagirikota (Chittoor dt) and Kavarathi 9 each, Tiruvannamalai, Yercaud, Bangalore and Alapuzha 8 each and Ambur (Vellore dt), Omalur (Salem dt) and Kuppam (Chittoor dt) 7 each.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are:- Arani (Tiruvannamalai dt), Kallakurichi (Villupuram dt) 6 each,Hindupur (Ananthapur dt), Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram and Neyyatinkara (Thiruvananthapuram dt) 5 each.

FORECAST (valid until Sunday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep, at many places over south interior Karnataka and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducher ry, Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and ghat areas of South interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours.

Farmers Weather Bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry (Forecast valid until Sunday morning): Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
