16 from village missing

KORAPUT: At least 16 persons, including seven children from Panchada village under Kakirigumma PS, have been missing for four months, police said . These villagers were guided by a middleman from Panchada to a contractor in MV-79 village from where they were to proceed to Chitrakonda to be engaged in painting work .

But none of them returned even after the promised period . When family members visited MV-79 and Chitrakonda with the middleman , neither the contractor nor their kin were found.
