BANGALORE: The Congress has no plans to mend fences with the Janata Dal (S) and form a government, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly N. Dharam Singh made it clear on Saturday. Mr. Singh told presspersons on the sidelines of a condolence meeting held to remember the former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar that ties had been severed with the erstwhile coalition partner once and for all. The fact that the JD(S) had not supported the National Democratic Alliance candidate in the just-concluded presidential election indicated that sweeping changes were likely to be witnessed in the State’s political arena soon, and equations could be rewritten. However, there would be no repeat of the Congress-JD(S) partnership, he said. The meeting was organised by the former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar Abhimanigala Sangha.
