Hope for jobless youth

NELLORE: Thousands of jobless youth especially women from the district will soon get employment avenues at spinning mills as well as garments units at Coimbatore and Tirupur of Tamil Nadu with the district administration soon entering into Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with them.

The district administration has already conducted a survey to identify those persons, who wish to work at spinning as well as garment units in the neighbouring State of Tamil Nadu to get on-hand experience.

“And the trained manpower can be useful for future requirements especially for the proposed units in the district,” District Collector M. Ravi Chandra told The Hindu on Friday.

Garment units

Outlining the details, he said that both the spinning mills and garment units in Tamil Nadu had agreed to provide initial training for 5,000 persons preferably women, who had obtained a minimum qualification of fifth standard, for three years.
