Monsoon active in coastal A.P.

CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been active over coastal Andhra Pradesh. Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep, at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and south interior Karnataka, and at a few places over Rayalaseema and Telangana. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka. The following stations recorded to heavy rainfall in cm:- Dharmasthala (Dakshina Kannada dt.) and Yellandur (Chamrajnagar dt.) 8 each and Trithala (Palakkad dt.), CIAL Kochi and Cuddapah 7 each.

FORECAST (valid until Monday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely at most places over coastal Karnataka and Kerala, at many places over Lakshadweep, south interior Karnataka and coastal Abndhra Pradesh, at a few places over Tami l Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana, Rayalaseema.
