Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday complimented Pratibha Patil for the massive mandate she got in the Presidential election.

In a statement, Mr. Hooda appreciated the decision of the UPA, especially of its Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, in declaring Ms. Patil as the Presidential nominee.

He said he had predicted massive votes for Ms. Patil because of the progressive policies of the UPA Government and the Congress in the State and his prediction had proved true.

He thanked all those who exercised their franchise in favour of Ms. Patil and said their support further strengthened the resolve of the UPA as well as the Congress to continue social reforms to improve the quality of life of the people.

Haryana Congress Working president and Rajya Sabha MP, Ram Parkash, hailed Ms. Patil’s victory.
