Kindergarten attacked

GUANGZHOU: Eighteen children and a teacher were been wounded in a kindergarten in China’s Guangdong Province after a mentally ill man attacked them with a wrench, local police said on Saturday. The man surnamed Ouyang entered the kindergarten in Jun’an town at about 4:30 p.m. local time and attacked the victims. He then fled on a motorbike after the teacher fought back. The teacher said she ordered the children to squat, which prevented more children from being hurt. The oldest among the injured children was only seven years old. Local police said they nabbed the man at his home, and sent him to hospital because he tried to kill himself by stabbing in the belly. Doctors with a local hospital said the teacher had suffered contusion in the head. — Xinhua
