Lecture meetings from August 1

VISAKHAPATNAM: A series of lecture meetings will be organised by the Centre for Policy Studies of Gayatri Vidya Parishad with the theme ‘India at Sixty’ to commemorate the 60th anniversary of India’s Independence.

According to director of the centre A. Prasanna Kumar, the three-week programme will begin on August 1 with an address by former Cabinet Secretary T.R. Prasad, followed by lectures by ENC FOC-in-C Vice Admiral R.P Suthan, NSTL Director V. Bhujanga Rao and VPT Chairman K.R. Kishore on the next three days in that order. It would be followed by feature lectures and discussions on various subjects. Prof. M.N. Sastri’s book ‘Profligate Civilization’, essays on energy and environment, would be released, he said.
