Hyderabad: Residents of Panchaseela Colony, IDA Gandhinagar are in a fix. The IDPL land that they used to get to Moosapet junction was barricaded two years back by officials, forcing them to travel long distance.

Over 20,000 people used the dirt road in IDPL to reach Moosapet junction. With a distance less than a kilometre, time taken to reach the junction was hardly 10 minutes until the area was fenced.

Residents claim that the desolate land was being used since 50 years. It is only two years ago that officials decided to cordon off the route, leaving people to travel via Narsapur Crossroads to get to Moosapet Junction.

“It’s a waste of time travelling all around the closed industry. If the road was opened, a lot of time and fuel can be saved,” says Nagaraj Goud a businessman.

The residents are left with two routes to take to reach the junction, one via IDPL and the other via Kukatpally, where the distances of these routes are 10kms and 6 kms respectively. “We have even requested the authorities concerned and also notified key persons in the Government. But there is no response,” says President of Panchaseela Colony, Meher Babu. Also, the number of vehicles travelling via Narsapur X roads has increased tremendously due to the cordoning of land. If the dirt road is opened, Narsapur crossroads would save residents’ time and fuel.
