CHENNAI: Eighteen-year-old Armaan Ebrahim drove a fine race in round 3 (super sprint race) at the Sentul Circuit, Indonesia on Saturday. Starting fourth on the grid in race 2, Armaan raced to second place thereby putting him in the lead in the championship by four points over American Seth Ingram. Armaan, who dominated the practice sessions by being the quickest in Saturday morning’s official practice session, had problems in the qualifying run and was not able to go quicker on his set of new tyres. Armaan qualified fourth while Aaron Lim qualified on Pole with Earl Bamber (New Zealand) in second and Setria (Australia) in third. Armaan finished ahead of Setria to take over the championship lead. By the middle of the first lap, Armaan made a great move on Setria to take third place and six laps later made another good move to pass Earl Bamber to finish second. By this point of time, the leader Aaaron Lim had built up a reasonable gap and Armaan had to settle for a second place in the 15-lap race.
