KARUR: Efforts will be taken to foster scientific temper among school students in the district, said the Collector T.N. Venkatesh.
Addressing the regional meet of the Tamil Nadu Science Movement (TNSM) on “Science Movement and Education Development” here on Saturday, Mr. Venkatesh said the TNSM should take efforts to conduct quiz, painting, seminars, elocution, essay and such other competitions for the benefit of school students in the district.
The district administration would bear the costs in a move to foster scientific temper among the students, he added.
The Collector lauded the TNSM for its efforts over the past 27 years to promote scientific temper among youth and children.
Mr. Venkatesh also appreciated the young scientists whose works were recognised at the National Young Scientists Exhibition. Certificates were given away to four winners of painting competition held on science on the occasion.
The Tamil Nadu Science Movement state secretary C. Venkatesan, district secretary S. Udhayan, Coordinator R. Ganesan and others spoke.
