Students’ demand

Krishnagiri: More than 500 students of Government Arts College staged a demonstration in front of the college here on Monday asking the management to conduct the student union elections. They claimed that student elections were not held for the last 10 years. They asked the management to reopen the college library. They wanted the authorities to provide scholarships to Backward Castes and Most Backward Castes students to pursue higher studies. Though the financial year had come to an end the students were not given scholarships. The students threatened to abstain from classes until their demands were met.
