Special Correspondent

KURNOOL: Telugu Desam Party organised a massive protest at the Collectorate against the rising prices of vegetable and essential commodities here on Monday. Party district president Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy, former minister B.V. Mohan Reddy, N. Md Farooq, Sobha Nagireddy, Bhuma Nagireddy, S.V. Mohan Reddy and others were present.

Some of the TDP leaders surprised the onlookers by appearing in the dress of Congress leaders but only to make a parody that the Congress leaders were making money by enhancing the prices of vegetables. They sold symbolically the vegetables at exorbitant prices.

The leaders said the prices were hurting the common man as many families cut their vegetable budget to meet the challenge. The situation prevailed as the government had no control over middlemen system and in fact, it lost control Raithu Bazars. They accused the government of having no idea about price mechanism and distribution system.

Mr. Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy said public were waiting for an opportunity to teach the Congress a bitter lesson. Later, a delegation met the collector and presented a memorandum.

TDP leader Bangi Anantaiah remained the center of attraction by wearing the garlands of vegetable and essential commodities.
