TARAMANGALAM: Devotees and public of this temple town are sore over the dismal condition of the Amman Kulam (tank) of Badra Kaliamman Temple here.
Garbage
They claimed that the sacred temple tank was not at all maintained. They also said that sewage from the nearby residential locality mix with the water of the tank. Garbage was indiscriminately dumped into the tank thus changing into a major dump yard.
T. M. Muthusamy, local Congress leader claimed that the tank was being maintained by the temple.
They never take any care about this ancient and historical temple tank, he added.
Immediate steps
Many residential associations and political parties, including Congress, staged agitations at many a time in the town against the poor maintenance of this temple tank.
They wanted that both the temple administration and the civic body to initiate immediate measures to maintain the tank.
