KANNUR: Most of the Catholic prelates heading different dioceses in the State will attend a function of the consecration of the chapel and the blessing of the theology block of the Good Shepherd Major Seminary at Kunnoth here on July 26. Seminary Rector Fr. George Pulickal and Thalassery Arch Diocese Public Relations Officer Fr. Thomas Thythottam said at a press conference here on Monday that Syro-Malabar Church Major Arch Bishop Cardinal Varkey Vithayathil would inaugurate the function by consecrating the chapel. Changanassery Arch Bishop Joseph Powathil would preside over the function. Changanassery Metropolitan Arch Bishop Joseph Perumthottam would bless the theology block. Thrissur Arch Bishop Emeritus Jacob Thoomkuzhi would deliver homily at the function. Kottayam Metropolitan Arch Bishop Mathew Moolakkat, Kothamangalam Bishop George Cunnakottil, Thamarassery Bishop Paul Chittilappilly, Kannur Bishop Varghese Chakkalakkal, Kanjarapally Bishop Mathew Arackal, Idukki Bishop Mathew Anikuzhikattil, Palai Bishop Joseph Kallarangat and Mananthavady Bishop Jose Porunnedom are among those expected to participate in the function. The Good Shepherd Major Seminary is one of the three major seminaries of the Syro-Malabar Church in the State. It was started on June 16, 2001.
