Deadly spell by Kumara

Mysore: An eight-wicket haul by leg-spinner S.S. Kumara (5.5-1-7-8), helped JSS High School, Saraswathipuram, register a three-wicket win over St. Joseph’s High School (State), in a Group ‘C’ league encounter in the ACUK district-level cricket tournament played at the Gangothri Glades grunds here on Monday.

Group A: Sarvajanika HS 43 in 13.4 overs (Pramod five for 15) lost to Mahabodhi HS 45 for one in 8.2 overs; Group B: Abhinava Bharathi HS, Mandya 266 for three in 30 overs ( Arjun 94, Chandrashekar 78) bt Gyana Sarovara IRS 59 in 25.5 overs; Group C: St. Joseph’s HS (State) 69 in 20.5 overs ( S.S. Kumara eight for seven) lost to JSS High School, Saraswathipuram 70 for seven in 18.5 overs; Group D: Vijaya Vittala HS 83 in 20.4 overs ( T ejas four for 13) lost to Pramathi Hill View Academy 84 for five in 17.1 overs.

Pramood wins title

Pramood Kuria and K.A. Anil Kumar, both of JWGC, tied with a card of five-over 75 but the former’s better back three strokes over the latter helped him to clinch the Stroke Play Gross 0-18 title in the Governor’s Cup Open golf tournament 2007, conducted by the Jayachamaraja Wadiyr Golf Club, on Sunday.
