Increase State’s Haj quota:CPI(M)

HYDERABAD: CPI(M) member of the Rajya Sabha P. Madhu on Monday wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh urging him to restore Haj pilgrimage to Syria, Iraq, Iran and Jordan which are equally sacred for Muslims, particularly Shias, like Saudi Arabia. The letter pleaded for increase the State’s Haj quota from the present 6,800 to 11,000.-Special Correspondent
