Fresh leads in boy’s death

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: What was believed to be an accidental death of a one-year-old boy reported a month ago is turning out to be an unintentional murder by a minor maid, the Begumpet police said on Monday. They registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder under Section 304 of the IPC against the maid Kanti Kumari, 14, following fresh leads. The boy’s body would be exhumed on Tuesday for further investigation. “She managed to lead everybody believe that Sanchit died after his elder brother fell on him,” according to Begumpet police station Inspector J. Subbarami Reddy. The couple used to leave their two sons in the girl’s care.
