Man beaten to death

M. Koteswara Rao, 24, was beaten to death allegedly by his relatives at Bomarasipet in Shamirpet on Sunday. The police said Rao and his relatives – Srinivas Rao, Chennaiah and Venkat Srinu – had consumed toddy in the afternoon. Then the trio picked up an argument with Rao over a financial matter.

In a fit of rage, they overpowered Rao and beat him to death. Rao, working as a labourer, was a resident of Thumkunta in Shamirpet, the police said.

B.Tech. student commits suicide

P. Eshwar Kumar (23), a third-year B.Tech. student, who attempted suicide by jumping from the fourth-floor of his apartment at Chaitanyapuri Colony in Saroornagar on July 9, died while undergoing treatment in a private hospital on Sunday. The police said reasons behind his taking the extreme steps were not known.

Woman killed in accident

A woman was killed when her two-wheeler was hit by a lorry at Bairamalguda on Monday. The victim was identified as C. Lalitha (30) of Karmanghat.
