Degree colleges in agency areas
HYDERABAD: The State Government has decided to open degree colleges in agency areas to cater to the needs of tribal youth. The Higher Education Department has already completed modalities like identification of land. The Cabinet is likely to give its nod for establishment of new colleges during its next meeting.
Announcing this during the Question Hour in the Assembly on Monday, Higher Education Minister D. Srinivas said the colleges were proposed to be set up at Seethammapeta in Srikakulam, Gummalaxmipuram in Vizianagaram, Eturunagaram of Warangal and Utnoor in Adilabad districts. Home Minister K. Jana Reddy said there were 110 vacant posts in the Fire Services Department in the Greater Hyderabad.
