Chaotic city

The current mayhem over garbage disposal has exposed the extent of unhealthy living in Kochi. Bad roads are adding to the chaos of traffic, another perennial problem faced by the city.

A question arising in several quarters is whether the city will be a breeding ground for plague and other diseases. There are apprehensions about the realisation of promised infrastructure as part of the modernisation of M.G. Road.

It certainly needs a magical touch to realise the proposed projects, including the metro rail, even though the Smart City got the green signal.

There are high expectations, but the present situation prompts the people to believe that “we are always like this.”
