Rare honour for Medak Collector

Collector meets President A P J Kalam

Sangareddy: While the name of Medak found a mention in the thanks giving speech by outgoing President of India A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the district Collector B.Venkatesam had the rare opportunity of meeting the President in an exclusive one-on-one. While touching upon his affinity to Andhra Pradesh the President mentioned about Medak, which has received SA 8000 certification for social accountability. The President, who has been in touch with the ongoing development programmes in the district like Youth empowerment, met B.Venkatesam in Rastrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi on Sunday. The district Collector was invited for a one on one meeting with the President and also to the reception held at Mughal gardens.

PURA in Medak

B.Venkatesam said that there is a possibility that the Japanese bank JICA funding Medak to implement Providing Urban amenities in Rural Areas, a brainchild of Dr Kalam. Describing his experience at the Rastrapathi Bhavan the collector said that it’s a great moment in his life that he would never forget .
