Isolated rain in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over Lakshadweep, at many places over coastal Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.

The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in centimetres: Aminidivi 9, Polur (Thiruvannamalai dt.) 8 and Kavarathi 7. The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Tiruvannamalai 6, Vellore, Kulithalai (Karur dt.), Kota (Udupi dt.), Srisailam (Kurnool dt.) and Kozha (Kottayam dt.) 5 each, Darsi (Prakasam dt.) and Agathi Airport 4 each, Manaparai (Tiruchirapalli dt.), Karkala (Udupi dt.), Shirali, Yelandur (Chamrajnagar dt.), Eturnagaram (Warangal dt.), Kottayam and Thodupuzha (Idukki dt.) 3 each, Cuddalore, Arani (Tiruvannamalai dt.), Tiruchirapalli, Tiruchirapalli Airport, Mani (Dakshina Kannada dt.), Udupi, Honavar, Srirangapatnam (Mandya dt.), Udayagiri (Nellore dt.), Tenali (Guntur dt.), Hyderabad Airport, Nandyal, Peermedu (Idukki dt.) and Minicoy 2 each and Tindivanam (Villupuram dt.), Gudiyatham (Vellore dt.), Jayamkondam (Perambalur dt.), Chembarambakkam (Tiruvallur dt.), Puttur (Dakshina Kannada dt.), Bhatkal (Uttara Kannada dt.), Gulburga, Chittapur (Gulbarga dt.), M.M. Hills (Chamrajnagar dt.), Yerragondapalem and Podili (both Prakasam dt.), Tuni, Kakinada, Visakhapattnam Airport, Venkatapuram (Khammam dt.), 1 each.

FORECAST (valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over Lakshadweep, at many places over Keala, coastal Karnataka, north coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and at a few places over rest Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: No significant change.
