CHENNAI: Jansons Group, which has interests in textiles, granites, education and windmill projects, has announced its foray into readymade garments as part of its diversification. Addressing presspersons here on Monday, T. S. Natarajan, Group chairman, said that the group was primarily into fabric weaving, printing, dying and processing through its three units. Jansons brand was well known for dhoti and lungi and the group gained reputation for its quality of products. He said the group was investing Rs. 5 crore on creating infrastructure and Rs. 10 crore in setting up Jansons exclusive stores. In the first phase the products would be made available in all southern states by 2007 and across India by 2010. Home textiles would also be launched in a phased manner. The group is planning to set up 100 exclusive stores and was projecting a sales revenue of Rs. 250 crore by 2010-11.
