CPI (M)’s concern over rise in crime rate

Puducherry: Member of the executive committee of the Tamil Nadu unit of Communist Party of India (Marxist) T.Murugan has said there is a rise in crimes including heinous offences in Puducherry over last six months.

In a release on Monday, he said murders, robberies and incidents of theft had been taking place ‘with impunity’ causing fear among the people. Mr. Murugan said the CPI (M) would mobilise the people to launch agitations to urge the law enforcing machinery to take up anti-crime measures. — Special Correspondent
