Goa to oppose State’s move

PANAJI: Goa Minister for Water Resources Filipe Neri Rodrigues assured the members of the State Assembly on Monday that the State Government would “fight tooth and nail the Karnataka Government’s plans to divert water from the Mahadayi river basin.”

The Minister was replying to queries raised by the members of the Opposition during the debate on demand for grants of the Department of Water Resources. He said he would urge the Chief Minister to lead an all-party delegation once again to New Delhi to approach various Union ministries associated with the issue of clearance for the projects to plead Goa’s case.
