Magadh varsity registrar fined

Patna: The Bihar State Information Commission has imposed a fine of Rs.5,000 on the registrar of Magadh University for not making available information sought by an applicant under Right to Information Act.

A meeting of the commission chaired by Justice (retd) S. K. Singh and comprising members Shakil Ahmed and P. N. Narayanan ordered deduction of the amount from the salary of the registrar-cum-information officer D K Yadav, commission sources said.

Besides, the panel ordered deduction of Rs.250 per day from the salary of the registrar till such time as the information was made available to the applicant.
