Drive against spurious drugs

Jaipur: In a drive against spurious drugs, the Medical and Health Department has collected 48 samples of suspected spurious medicines from chemists and druggists for testing in 14 districts of Rajasthan.

Principal Secretary of Medical and Health department R K Meena said the drive was launched by the drug controller in Jodhpur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Churu, Sikar, Tonk, Alwar, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Banswara, Jaipur, Sirganganagar and Bikaner districts.

In Kota, the police raided the house of one Murarilal and seized illegally stocked medicines worth Rs.65,000 from his premises and also took 12 samples for testing, Mr. Meena said.
