Remand of suspected spy extended till July 26

Bhopal: Police remand of a suspected spy, arrested here with military documents, was extended till July 26 even as intense search was on for two persons, including an army man, who had allegedly supplied him the classified material.

Interrogation of Mohd Nayeem was on after a court on Monday extended his remand by three days, Superintendent of Police A K Singh told reporters here on Tuesday.

Nayeem has disclosed that a person had introduced him to an army man, who had been supplying him information and documents related to the military, the SP said, adding efforts were on to trace both of them.

The suspected spy, a helper with railways and a resident of Jhansi, was arrested near 3 EME centre on July 18, with classified documents, pictures, books and CDs carrying information about military establishments.
