NEW DELHI: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has increased the seat intake for its various programmes for the 2007-08 academic year, offering 1,760 more seats. For B. Tech, 600 seats have been added this year, while the BBA programme will have 240 more seats. The number of additional seats for B. Ed. and MBA is 300 and 250, respectively. In BCA, 103 more seats have been added, while MCA now has 90 more seats. Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication has 15 additional seats. Increase in BBA intake has resulted primarily from introduction of an evening shift at five of the affiliated institutions, including the Institute of Information Technology and Management, Janakpuri; Jagannath Institute of Management Studies, Vasant Kunj; Maharaja Surajmal Institute, Janakpuri; Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies, Rohini; and Ideal Institute of Management Technology, Karkardooma, with an intake of 60 seats each. Furthermore, six new programmes have been introduced by the University for the forthcoming academic session. They are: Master of Mass Media (40 seats); Master of Occupational Therapy (18); B.Sc. Medical Technology Radiotherapy (four seats); M.A. English and Communication Studies (30) ; B. Tech Civil (60) and MBA part-time at Delhi Institute of Professional Studies.
